Our spaces and heritage tours
Discover the rituals of Kef through this cultural tour of the city, featuring stops with QR codes. Learn about the intangible heritage of the Kef medina, with its Zaouias, Hara and Ghriba, Sufi songs, Borzguene and traditional jewellery.
Under the pretext of preparing for the wedding of a character named Youssef, you will be introduced to local customs and discover this rich tangible and intangible heritage.
This application, created in 2019 but no longer active, is primarily a project to preserve intangible cultural heritage, implemented in cooperation with the holders of intangible cultural practices in the Kef region. It also aims to boost the attractiveness of the Kef medina, promote its cultural potential and digitise its intangible heritage.
The ‘Rite du Kef’ application is the result of a hackathon on the theme of promoting heritage through new technologies, led by young graduates, volunteers, members of the Museum Lab association, collaborators, curators, researchers and students at the initiative of Museum Lab on several Tunisian sites in 2019. They came together in multidisciplinary teams and, in line with the themes and sites proposed, devised and implemented original and innovative concepts to revisit mediation in Sousse, Dougga, Kerkouane, El Kef and Tunis.
In early December 2019, the five teams behind the five prototypes competed against each other, and then the devices were exhibited free of charge to the general public in mid-December at the sites, museums and historical centres.
