The “Hkeya fi Hkeya” cultural, fun and digital tour takes you on a 1h45 walk through the tales and legends of the town of Le Kef.
From the Jewish cemetery to the ramparts, the historic town center or the suburbs, equipped with a digital tablet and accompanied by a mediator, the legends of Le Kef will hold no secrets for you.
The “Hkeya fi Hkeya” tour is the culmination of a project to record Kef’s intangible cultural heritage (tales and legends) undertaken between 2019 and 2021 by ten young people from Kef specially trained by Museum Lab for this work.
Accompanied by historians and developers, they created a map of Kef’s medina, investigated the town’s tales with local residents, and wrote an interactive tour scenario in which Kef’s mythical stories and characters such as “el Rohbén” and “el Nid” come to life in an app available on tablet.
Based on the desire to boost tourism and heritage development in Kef through innovative cultural mediation, we trained young mediators from the town. The training was structured around 3 modules, each lasting around two weeks: Intangible cultural heritage, scenario and storytelling, new technology and audiovisual, writing workshop (workshops in scientific documentation, interviews, data collection and scriptwriting), project development (technological prototyping).
The result is a 17-station tour for families, friends and individuals!
The work carried out by Museum Lab is part of a wider project to enhance the historic center of Le Kef and its surroundings through the integration of young people. The aim is also to create an in-house digital platform for Kef’s intangible cultural heritage.
